The passage is, in short, exactly what we were looking for. Unfortunately, it's not easy to understand. We can start with the basic observation that pyro is telling us to avoid opinion or belief. In plato's classic formulation, belief lies between ignorance and knowledge. The moral of the sceptical story is that plato and aristotle were wrong. Belief is not inadequate because it falls short of knowledge. Rather, it goes too far to have. A belief presupposes that we are able to determine the nature of things but this is impossible.
