According to ours Technica Amazon is losing ten billion dollars this year. That's more than most companies are worth entirely. This is leading to a large amounts of layoffs for Amazon. I believe thousands or tens of thousands of employees Working on Alexa. The month's layoffs are the end result of years of trying to turn things around.
