The Effects of Class Hypergamy on Income

Husbands who have 8 percentage points higher income, having 0.75 percentage points richer parents. Clark and Cummins don't measure income, but they do find a very small approximately 0.5 percentage points status advantage for husbands fathers. However this difference disappears and even reverses by the last period in their study, 1980 to 2021. Although they don't directly measure income, there is either no income hypergamy or it's happening in the total absence of class hypergamy.
