In the period that you're writing on, does this spur on those working Oxford? Do we get a sense that there is there is a sense of competition that particular points or with particular figures? Yes, I think there's a matter of relationships between personalities, possibly. But one of the things I think one way of describing the general project of my book is to say that some of the differences and antagonisms that we often associate with intellectual life are mistaken.
