The Limits of Perception

Perception is the means of right knowledge, says Brihasvati. Inferences that seek to prove a self or other world are not considered valid by those who know real nature of things and can be checked with empirical evidence. Niaya's epistemology was in the service of arguing for this self, liberation, and so on. These are also precisely the inferences that Chaturvaka is committed to refuting.
