What Advice Would You Give to Parents of Children on the Autism Spectrum?

Mary, what advice would you give to parents or grandparents who contact you saying they have a child that claims to be transgender? Mary: We love you. We're here for you because I think sometimes families who are experiencing this feel a shame or like people are going to assume they did something wrong. The force of the cultural pressure on this is so great. It's none of us should be looking at a family that has a kid who's struggling with these things and think they somehow, quote, didsomething wrong.
