The War Between Manfred Mann and John Mayo
Manfred Mann and John Mayo were reading in the papers that their band members were quitting, before those members had bothered to mention it. The group soon took on Robert Stigwood as a manager, which caused more arguments between Bruce and Baker. Clapton was supposed to work a month's notice while Mayo found another guitarist, but Mayo spent two weeks begging Peter Green to read during the band. Either way, the powerhouse lineup only lasted for that one session.
