Farrell Atlas uses the term uncontainable to mark alarm, shock, and even panic people feel in the face of feral ecologies. I would tell the reader that you're only marking this uncontainability really when it shocks and surprises. We continually act as if we're surprised that burning fossil fuel creates excess carbon dioxide that's warming the world. And they're going to be uncontrollable in some way or another.
