Sminno's Story Is a Thriller

Sminno's story is similar to Lady Nijo and Ogymachi Machiko. All three women operated in systems that were very patriarchal. Sminno speaks to something that feels, for lack of a better word, profoundly modern. In a certain sense, every young Japanese person today dreaming about leaving their small town for Tokyo is her heir.
