I think the way we have these fields and disciplines carved up is in a way ridiculous, but I don't want to fight that battle. The whole point of tenure was supposed to be if it protects professorial free speech. So something there is wrong with tenure. Tenure limits flexibility. It's terrible for women who are on a typical childbearing schedule, so to speak. If you say want to have children when you're 30, 31, that's exactly the worst possible time for trying to get tenure. There should be a good online class that anyone can take on any major topic. And right now, there isn't. That to me is just criminal. Those would be two simple
