The Interrelationship Between Happiness and Sincerity

I've been thinking about this, I'm trying to think beyond this a lot in the past few months. One of the reasons that people cling to sincerity in the colonial context was because their contexts were less happy and more potentially miserable than they really wanted to grapple with. Sometimes when you're unhappy and you're like chronically struggling, you're norm-shiffed. And you you accustom yourself to greater uncertainty, to greater prospect of misery. It's important to identify the way that situational unhappiness generates investments in stories that may or may not be true, but are the closest substitute to happiness.
