What I'm Seeing in the Seminar Room Is a Real Interest in Representation and Identity

I think some of those changes are that one, a real interest in representation and identity. So after I think decades, if not centuries of going as a student, all you're supposed to do is subordinate yourself. And so it's something which has like a broader kind of cultural impact outside of the seminar room. The second thing which has changed for me was not that people are wanting to read things through the lens of their identity, but a refusal to read things because of an assumption that it was going to clash with some aspect of their identity.
