Saint Ignatius of Antioch, who knew John the Apostle, writes in 107. He is dealing with the same Gnostics that his teacher John the Apostle dealt with. You still have that Gnostic influence and in fact it was growing outside of the church. And we know, here's a little interesting tidbit for folks: It appears they're still populating Catholic churches.
