When she was five, Iana learned to swim in the Florida Keys on a family vacation. She went on to get a bachelor's degree from just this little startup college called in the field of environmental science and public policy. Her PhD is technically in marine biology but it was done through an interdisciplinary program at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
