CHAPTER

The Importance of a Director's Cut

I'm normally very lucky if I can persuade a production to let me have a sound editor during the shoot. So basically they come in towards the end when there's somewhat of a cut. They'll tend to leave us on our own to kind of form the film as best we can. And then we screen the film with a first attempt to get it. The idea is if we all die, then you can show the film. That'd be great. But yeah, seriously, it's kind of crude,. but you want to have your sound effects worked up and your music worked into good shape.
