I believe very deeply that what was happening to the country's LGBTI community was wrong in so many ways. A small minority is going through threats every single day of their lives. I didn't want anybody to go through that sort of trouble. And so it came natural to me. This was an important case and that I needed to use my privilege to defend this community, but more importantly to defend human rights. It has everything to do with my conviction, my belief in the rights of fellow human beings. But I also think that we don't do this because it's popular. We just do it because it's right.
