The Importance of Election

In Genesis 18, 19 it says in him all the nations will be blessed for I have known him. Peter picks that up in 2, 9 and says Christians are chosen by God. And then he talks about them being elect according to that knowing in chapter 1 verse 2. No one is elect but those who believe and believing is the way you know you are among the elect.
