The Origins of Astrology in the Renaissance
The notion of as above, so below, became very much part of the renaissance. Astrology also made its way very much into the field of medicine. There were astrological physicians who tried to administer medicine. And you can see words like influenza, which come from an ast logical root. It was believed that this illness, the epidemics of this illness, much like theca epidemic of the black death, were understood as being caused by astral influences.
