The Road to Making a Movie About Bob Motley

Bob Motley was the last living Negro leagues umpire until he passed away at age 94 in 2017. "He just enjoyed talking about the history and his passion for what he had been through and seeing," says co-producer John Sutter. The film is based on a book called ruling over monarchs giants and stars I'm hiring, written by Bob Motley with help from writer/director LZ Granderson.
