The Rise of MSC Ships Sailing Through Philadelphia

MSC's container capacity going from South America to Europe nearly tripled between 2016 and 2019. Some ships known to have carried cocaine were stopping briefly in U.S. ports, including Philadelphia. MSC accounted for almost half of all container capacity on those routes by 2019. The company also opened up new commercial opportunities for traffickers as well.
