The Role of Moral Perception in Child Development

How do you know that kids aren't picking that up from their parents? I've explicitly or just by watching how their parents behave. What about cross-cultural evidence? Presumably there's evidence that cultures from America to India to China and so on, that morality operates in pretty much the same way for all those places.
