Chinese Warplane Activity Near Taiwan Hits a Three-Month High

Taiwan's defense ministry said on Monday that 62 of China's military aircraft were detected in what they called the surrounding region and 32 of them crossed the medium line or flew within the Southwest corner of Taiwan's air defense identification zone. According to Bloomberg, this is the biggest spike in Chinese warplanes around the island since the beginning of August when Nancy Pelosi visited the island. It's an area where a country requires foreign aircraft to identify itself but there are no international regulations or definitions for it.
