Hinge was competing with tinder, a mobile app that allows users to swipe left or right if they are interested in someone and then reject them. Users were swiping one way or another one billion times per day at the time of this article. The company had 25 thousand dollars left when it launched its ap last year. It has since raised more than $1 million from venture capitalists.
