How Did You Get Your First Job as a Songwriter?
At 21, at 20 or 21, the notion of being a full-time professional songwriter without having to overcome my fear and put myself out there was way more appealing to me than being an artist. So when I landed on that television show, I was so shook. I stood backstage shaking and I hated the experience. It drove me crazy. And then I went back to my college dorm room and it was really weird for a year. That also led to the super producer, one of the biggest producers at the time, Timbaland.
