The Third UN: How Knowledge Ecology Helps the UN Think

The third UN is the ecology of supportive non-state actors, intellectual scholars, consultants and think tanks. It interacts with the intergovernmental machinery of the first and second UN to formulate and refine UN ideas and decision making at key junctures in policy processes. Tom has published a dozen books about the UN including what is wrong with the UN and how to fix it which came out in 2016. Tatiana: Is this a good example of how the third UN works in practice or does your previous work take into account the idea of the third UN?Tom: Well thanks the the meeting was interesting because it was nice to hear that some people still read books particularly ones running for high office.
