Dao ting also has poems where it talks about how the hard and the strong will ultimately fail. Those who show good character will be rewarded for their good character rather than what they can take from other people. This idea of attachment and possessions being a problem is a common theme throughout every world religion. So this is not some esoteric Chinese advice here. You can look at all these religions.
