Soft and Hard Authoritarianism

We're going to dive into the thesis of your book, which is really fascinating. There are a few kind of terms i thought perhaps we could spend a few minutes doing some level setting on. The most familiar way that people might relate to this difference, at least the one that makes sense in my mind, is between thehe difference between soft and hard power. And so when i talk about soft authoritarianism, i'm cuing this idea of control through persuasion.
