The lead single off the 1971 album Trafalgar was the softest, most pillowy hit the BGs had ever recorded. How Can You Mend A Broken Heart placed fifth for the whole year in Billboard's Year End chart - ranked only behind hits by Three Dog Night, Rod Stewart, Carol King, and the Osmons.
