"Free speech doesn't quite work. I mean, it should work and it doesn'tquite work still," he says. "Even debates going across the spectrum might actually lead to an increased polarization." He launches a campaign immediately after the Shali Hebdo murders to try and get a coordinated repubdication of some of the cartoons on the inside page. The whole operation was a complete failure because trying to get newspapers to do a coordinated action is 'worse than herding cats'
