In your forthcoming book, you report that people who score higher on materialism have a kind of insatiable drive to acquire an ever growing collection of belongings. You say this leads to heightened levels of unhappiness and anxiety. And so i'm wondering, can you just unpack this little bit for our listeners? So i think modern culture would have us believe that the acquisition of evermore am quot valuable or status signifying possessions are what will make us fulfilled and happy. But we tend to find that these things can give us short term, hedanistic, immediate feelings of happiness - but it doesn't ace the fulfilment and ongoing sense of eude eudemonia and well being
