The Life and Times of John List
In 1965, List was fired from Xerox when his boss told him he couldn't keep up with the fast-paced growing company. Despite a hefty mortgage, a wife, three kids, and an elderly mother to support, List didn't look for another job. He also didn't apply for unemployment because he later admitted he was too proud. The List family seemed to the neighbors to be the very epitome of the American dream but it didn't take long for the facade of the perfect family to become tarnished.
