The Origins of the Piri Reyes Map
The map may have in fact been drawn with the East and the North. This was not totally uncommon for maps of the time because we just had a totally different concept of the world. The thing is the Piri Reyes map. He was looking at it horizontally. Ah, yeah. So that's written in Turkish. So they have like a little... It actually might be Latin. No, I think it's either Arabic or Turkish. Something a little compass rose in the corner or whatever. Let me show people what we're talking about here. That's not a full map. There's the full map.
