Charles Guto and the First Lady

Charles Guto stalked President James Garfield. He shot him twice, once grazing the elbow and once into his back. But he was still alive for months. The inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, visited the president to see if he could use an electric device in order to find the bullet left in his body. In September, 1881, James Garfield died. Charles Guto was charged with murder.
