The Dirty Secret of BBC Weather

When the air is warmer, it does hold more moisture, and generally we're seeing clouds. But if we have air coming off the continent, for example, in the UK, air coming off France, the source of the air is very dry. So we can have warmer air in high temperatures, with no cloud. It doesn't necessarily mean that it means where the air's coming from. If we get a feed of warm air from the Mediterranean from the south, even with clear skies at night, temperatures will still be on the mild side. We will get cold nighttime temperatures. Now, we're seeing that at the end of June, where temperatures in the north of Scotland drop to 0
