The more dependencies you've got, the more costly time consuming it is. It becomes a cycle that you cannot escape sometimes. You have to weigh up at the beginning of the project where the one thing is worth all of the time and effort that may be required to do it. And I'm guessing in many cases, certainly at the enterprise level, the answer is going to be yes. But for a little project, the seesaw may tip heavily against something like headless.
