The Story of Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation

The focus of this book is roughly the time period 1865 to 1945 for the Civil War to World War II more or less and during that time you see a whole host of ways in which Native voices or resistance to this process was erased. By the 1980s and 1990s this is really swelled into a firestorm that ultimately results in the passage of the National Museum of the American Indian Act and Nagba the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act  that finally gives Native people a mechanism for calling for these remains back today but yeah I would say one of the critiques of the book it's this it's a history book that you know looks at this earlier era.
