The Gas Crisis of the Seventies

Nixon's wage and price controls, followed by the petroleum alocation act of 19 73, which continued those controls, that led to the so called gas crisis. It was not, quote, the souty embargo in the united states. The majors reserved their domestic supplies for their own stations, and they reduced imports to both themselves. But then they invoked these contract clauses to cut off the independence. That led to odd even rationing and all sorts of things.
