When I started first looking at resilience, a lot of it in my mind was, your overcome adversity and you know, you achieved things. And then as I was doing more research and looking at other people's research, I said, I'm missing a very big part of what resilience is. We now call it maybe social emotional factors. One of the most important parts of being resilient is when you feel you're making a positive difference in the life of someone else. It's hard for people to be resilient unless they have had adults who truly believed in them.
