Introduction
The two most dramatic crises where ritual functions very importantly psychologically are puberty and aer retirement. The personof puvirty is has to kill the infantile go that's the ego that is subordinate to parents. When that ritual, when that transition doesn't occur, you have a neurosis. A neurotic is a person who has simply not gone over that threshold. And one reason we have so much money going into the coffers of the psychiatrists is that that ritual is missing.
