The Newness of the New Testament

The scriptures obviously warn against departure from orthodoxy. But they use the language of what is new positively in a lot of ways too. For example, in hymns to thelord, sing ye to the lord. A new canticle, sing to the lord, all the earth says. Psalm 95 calls on god to renew thy signs and work new miracles. When ezekiel calls upon his listeners to depart from their sin, he asks them, to make to yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Newness is particularly a quality of conversion in in the early christian writings. So there must be something in that experience of innovation which innovation as we currently perience it, is
