Dave Daye: Coaching comes with a lot of baggage. If you can't coach in ten minutes or less, you just don't have time to coach. There is no way that you can take the model of executive coaching, which is a deceptive model, and apply that to your managers and your leaders. But this isn't about adding coaching to what you already do. It's about changing what you currently do to be more coach like.

Focus less on performance appraisals and more on coaching conversations. There is a natural tension between the organization as a machine and the human beings who work there.
