Altruism and the Copenhagen Consensus
I think there's a good case for coming up with some real metrics for certain kinds of altruism. Of course, it is really hard to quantify outcomes. So when it comes to things like food stamps, we still call them food stamps, even though I haven't been on them in what 30 years now 40 years and they're actually a pretty good program. But that doesn't mean that even though the outcomes are still good and the intentions are certainly excellent in most cases that these things should be beyond analysis.
