The Rise of Rome in the Early 11th Century
In the early to mid-11th century, there emerged a radical wing of the church. They were pushing for papal primacy within the church as a whole. These people are grouped within the papal curia itself and tend to establish a dominance over papal policy. And what are they aiming to do? They're aiming for conformity, aren't they? But in order to achieve an acceptance that the chief patriarch at the patriarch at which has authority and magisterial terms and laying down doctrine and enforcing doctrine is the sea of Rome... Nevertheless, aschism is coming up.
