The Influence of Edipa Pension on Counterculture
Pension is about the same age as Hunter S Thompson from a generational standpoint. He's much more of a beat than he is a hippie yeah I would agree with that and even his his bro style especially in Gravity's rainbow. In this book in crying of lot 49 the scene where Edipa drives into San Narciso it's practically stolen from uh on the road driving into San Francisco. It absolutely cemented for me the opinion that um for at least a lot 49 and Gravity's rainbow pension was doing a lot of speed.
