In May 2018, 66% of Irish voters voted to repeal the eighth amendment. Fianna Falle and Fianna Gail are still dragging their feet on enacting this. For almost a century after independence, Ireland suffered a peculiar form of repression. Whenever there is great oppression in the old British Empire, or if you look at like when South Africa changes, a new form of repression often replaces it.
