The Importance of Fingers in Maths

I think we see that over and over again. This is a deeply entrenched belief this gendered brain. I'm just wondering how one can overcome it because you're suggesting that if you could overcome the belief you would get different results. We recently brought 81 students on to campus and taught them open conceptual maths. In 18 days they improved their test performance so they took a standardized test. They learned the equivalent of two and a half years of school in 18 days. And I know that a big part of this boost for them was they changed their ideas about who they were and what they could do.
