The renders were done by a talk called Unreal Engine, which is produced by Epic Games. Same firm that developed Fortnite and other leading games. The gaming engine is used to create renders and graphics by architects as well. It's actually impossible to tell at times in this video what's real and what's render. That kind of nod to heritage really comes from Xi'an being one of China's most historic cities.
