The Pauli Exclusion Principle in Quantum Mechanics

On the atomic scale, magnetic fields want to line up. So that seems to contradict our everyday experience of what magnets actually do. The answer uses something called the Pauli exclusion principle - which is a famous result in quantum mechanics. And it says that that force field that exerts the force from one magnet on the other, it is carried by particles. Those particles are the particles of the electromagnetic field, and those are particles of light.
