The Japanese American Citizens League condemned Fred's case and anyone else who fought against the government orders. The J-A-C-L said it would not support any of these individuals who were fighting the orders or called them self-styled martyrs. "Most of them just avoided me so therefore I assumed that I got myself in this problem and therefore was my problem and not theirs," he says.
