The Importance of Child Sacrifice in Early Christian Interpretations
The notion of child sacrifice also underlies very early Christian interpretations of the execution of Jesus he is the beloved son who is killed. So there's something very disturbing though about the notion of a father a divine father who will willingly sacrifice his child. What does that say about Aaron? It makes the the Lamb of God metaphor within Christianity more interesting I think a lot of people are enjoy that metaphor and make a lot of use of it without thinking hard about what that says about how Jesus is functioning.
